More/Other Information:
Before Pam came to WCHC, she was in clinical practice in northern Wisconsin for 10 years. After completing her doctorate in nursing practice, she taught nursing for three years in Milwaukee. While she enjoyed her time as an assistant professor, she missed clinical practice and felt the time was right to go back into clinical practice, where she could make a difference. She took a hospitalist position at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where she worked with pulmonary patients, including adult cystic fibrosis and lung transplant patients. She was part of the Pulmonary & Critical Care Division at UIHC for over five years. Pam has been a registered nurse since 1977 and a nurse practitioner since 2001. She values time spent working with patients and their families.

Pam’s hobbies include knitting, gardening, and traveling, but her favorite pass time is spoiling her grandchildren and encouraging them to be a little ornery once in a while—just enough to remind their parents they were once kids, too. She is married and has four kids and four grandchildren, and enjoys spending time with family.
