Student Opportunities
WCHC is committed to providing students with a positive educational experience that will help them prepare for a career in healthcare, whether they are interested in a clinical or non-clinical experience. WCHC wants to help students learn about the vast variety of career opportunities within the healthcare industry! Here is an idea of what we want students to take away from their time at WCHC:
- Students have the ability to ask questions about career paths and experiences they’ve always wanted to learn more about.
- Gain in-depth knowledge about the working life of a profession or role of their interest.
- Learn new perspectives in healthcare careers and caregiving roles.
- Reflect on possible career paths they’ve always wanted to explore.
Why WCHC
WCHC offers a carefully monitored experience where students have learning objectives and reflect on what is learned throughout their time at WCHC with a professional staff member. An unpaid clinical experience provides the student an opportunity to make the transition from student role to entry-level staff role in a practice setting.
Student Intern
Students have the opportunity to work as a paid intern in select departments and positions. These positions are limited and may only be available during certain times of the year. During an internship, students work alongside the professional team to assist in accomplishing the goals of the department.
Not all departments are available for this opportunity.
