Washington, Iowa — Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) today announced it has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.
“Our team continues to raise the bar year after year, and this recognition is a direct reflection of their dedication to providing exceptional care to every patient who walks through our doors,” said Todd Patterson, CEO of WCHC. “We are proud to serve our community, and being honored in outcomes leadership reinforces the strength, compassion, and excellence that define WCHC.”
The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
WCHC continues to set the standard for high-quality rural healthcare, driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for serving our community. We are proud to deliver trusted, compassionate care close to home—today and for generations to come.
