For over 100 years, Washington County Hospital and Clinics has been providing healthcare services to Washington County and surrounding community residents.

Support WCHC's Healthcare Heroes

Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) is made up of amazing people - healthcare heroes who are entirely focused on saving lives and helping people heal during the coronavirus pandemic. During these trying times, every staff member at WCHC has gone above and beyond the call of duty. By continuously placing the needs of patients and community members above themselves and diving headfirst into uncharted waters they heroically deliver the best care possible.

Although coronavirus (COVID-19) is new, preparing for emergencies is not. Iowa hospitals and their staff conduct emergency preparedness training year-round. WCHC has made multiple changes to overcome recent challenges while always keeping the safety of patients, residents, the community, and staff first and foremost. WCHC has implemented a triage process to determine the level of care needed, whether to be seen in person or by telemedicine and the appropriate location to be seen. While this is the appropriate response for the health and wellness of our community, the ultimate result has been an increase in expenses while monthly revenue continues to fall. This unfortunately is not a short-term problem, but likely will linger for a number of months.

Though some tough decisions have been made due to the pandemic, this virus will not stop WCHC's commitment to providing quality healthcare and the WCH Foundation remains committed to supporting the doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, and administrators who are continuing to provide the expected high level of care through this daunting time. By putting the safety and needs of the community first, WCHC has sustained and will continue to take on tremendous economic damage.

Times like this highlight how important a strong healthcare system is to our community. Never has your support of the WCH Foundation been deemed more critical to the long-term sustainability and viability of local healthcare. Donate today to support one of our most precious and limited resources, our healthcare heroes, as they fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that we remain strong for the future.
