This overview provides a brief summary of the many benefits all part-time and full-time employees of Washington County Hospital and Clinics enjoy. For many of the benefits listed, the cost is shared between the hospital and the employee. Please consult your HR representative at WCHC for more information about your benefits.

Medical
All qualified employees and their dependents can choose from multiple plans to best meet you and your family's needs. With Wellmark Health Insurance plans ranging from as low as a $250/$500 annual deductible and a Pharmacy benefit that gives employees many FREE prescriptions, we can meet your family's needs and budget.

Dental
Dental coverage is available to qualified employees and covered dependents. WCHC offers a basic and premium plan. While the basic plan covers basic restorative care, the premium plan covers a portion of major restorative dental care at a very affordable cost.
Disability
WCHC offers disability to its full-time employees at no cost! Our disability plan ensures employees receive 60% of base pay while unable to work for upt to two years.
Vision
Vision insurance is available to qualified employees and covered dependents. This particular type of coverage includes annual exams, lenses, frames and contacts. This insurance also provides several other discounts including LASIK surgery.
Life Insurance and AD&D
While the employee may purchase supplemental life coverage, WCHC offers life insurance at no additional cost to full time employees. The employee may also purchase coverage for his or her spouse and/or dependent at a group rate for the family at an affordable cost.
Critical Illness
A wellness benefit that pays you directly based on a medical condition such as, Heart Attack, Alzheimer's, Stroke, etc. Not only does it cover you for initial occurrence but up to 10 times the chosen benefit amount including subsequent and recurring conditions. Included is a wellness benefit that pays up to 4 coverage individuals per family, per year $100 for 28 health screening tests.
Hospital Indemnity
Pays daily benefits if you're admitted to the hospital. Guaranteed issues, no health questions, waiting periods or pre-existing condition exclusions.
Accident
Voluntary wellness benefit that pays you directly based on the injury and treatment you receive. No limit to the number of time used, regardless of any other benefits you might have. This is a portable benefit that you can take with you, even if you leave employment at WCHC.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
24/7 online access for mental health, life coaching, financial consultation, bereavement and life management just to name a few of their benefits.
Care Partners
A unique face to face benefit (and mobile option) that offers employees and their family members EAP and spiritual services within our hospital.
Travel Assistance
An embedded benefit that offers 24/7 assistance for emergency personal, medical and pre-trip assistance.
Pet Insurance
Sign up for pet related discounts for treatment and medication for your furry friend.
Legal Insurance
The most comprehensive legal plan on the market. From traffic to will and estate planning to civil and real estate planning our legal insurance has you covered.
ID Theft
This benefit monitors and detects numerous identity theft coverages. This includes credit, dark web and social media monitoring.
IPERS
IPERS is the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System. Their goal is to provide a core retirement plan that attracts and retains a quality workforce needed to fulfill critical government responsibilities.
WCHC contributes 9.44% to your IPERS fund with a total investment of over 15%.
