Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is another innovative way we are meeting our communities' need. At WCHC, aquatic therapy is a tool we use to ensure a swift and safe recovery. This particular kind of therapy is clinically and scientifically proven to be effective for many musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and immunological disorders and may be utilized as part of your rehabilitation plan.

Buoyancy, hydro-static pressure, and viscosity properties of water naturally provide a therapeutic environment for physical rehabilitation. Sometimes, this type of therapy can even be started earlier than land based rehabilitation, therefore accelerating the healing process and recovery time. Reduced pain, larger range of motion, and improved balance are all ways aquatic therapy at WCHC can help you.

The pool is kept at a warm 92-94 degrees and has a current system fully adjustable for a variety of exercises. The Aquatic Therapy area is completely handicap accessible with locker rooms and showers on site. Your physical therapist (PT) will provide you one-on-one guidance for an individualized water-based exercise program.
