Keeping a rural county hospital progressive and viable has never been an easy task. Washington County Hospital and clinics' long history of growth can be attributed to the generosity of area residents who value a rural county hospital for local residents. The hospital started with a gift of 11 acres of land and today, the Washington County Hospital Foundation is working to keep the spirit of giving alive.
Incorporated in July of 1995, the WCH Foundation has taken gifts ranging from $1 to estates of close to $1 million and is "Making a Difference" at the hospital through these donor dollars. Donors have designated gifts from patient care items, staff areas and landscaping projects. Families have memorialized loved ones and remembered those who have affected their life in one way or another. Estate gifts have started the Endowment Fund and financed major remodeling projects. Each dollar is helping the WCH Foundation: "Making a Difference" at the hospital.
The WCH Foundation is governed by a 21-member Board of Directors who carry out the activities of the corporation. Gifts accepted include cash, securities, personal property and real estate. The WCH Foundation also offers the opportunity for donors to restrict or endow their gifts.
