Mom to Mom-Breastfeeding Support Group

Lamaze/Prenatal Class
These classes are open to any expectant families. The classes cover breathing and relaxation techniques,  what to expect during labor and delivery, possible interventions used during labor and delivery, what to expect from a newborn, safety issues including car seat safety, and feeding choices. Sibling Class
This class helps to orient children to the hospital setting and take the fear out of having Mom go to the hospital. This class meets based on need. For more information, contact the OB department at (319) 863-3943.  

Lactation Clinic
A Lactation Clinic is offered in the Obstetrics Department every Wednesday from 8am-4pm for anyone who has delivered at WCHC or simply has questions about breastfeeding.  The clinic will provide weight and hearing checks, biliscans and support for mothers, as well as insturctions and techniques to help master breastfeeding.  Arnel Baughman, Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department has received her certification in lactation consultation and will run the clinic.  Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 319-863-2043.
